00:04:17: And, They mentioned in certain parts of the questionnaire That Of course...they are also affected by this Hollywood narrative and The way we police women's bodies.

00:04:38: You had a volleyball player, for example who said I am happy now that I'm this tall because if I wasn't this tall... ...I wouldn't be able to play volleyball the way I played volleyball.

00:04:51: I love my back Because i need a strong back from me To be good swimmer!

00:04:58: and then you have icons like Ilona Mayer the rugby player And she has been a big advocate for the diversity in women's bodies, but that also happens to men.

00:05:15: But if you see man and LGBTQ plus community gay men mostly cis-gaymen I mean their bodies are being policed as well.

00:05:28: Sports are in the middle of that, but one thing is to work out and the other is to practice sports.

00:05:36: Sports have to deal with winning and losing.

00:05:38: Sports has to do many things.

00:05:40: If you insert or the anti-trans agenda then bodies are battlegrounds particularly the bodies of women whether it's abortion rights, whether it is the way we look.

00:06:09: know about the Olympics move to ban trans athletes And gender hot takes were thrown around during actual games.

00:06:16: So let's do little bit of deep dive.

00:06:18: This band went ahead based on the SRY gene, which is a move so flawed even that man who discovered it said to paraphrase Ames.

00:06:28: Well what he actually said was more nuanced and argued that World Athletics' mandatory SRY-gene testing for elite female athletes is scientifically overly simplistic and ethically fraught.

00:06:46: This is because reducing the complex spectrum of human sex development down to single genetic marker ignores physiological nuance and creates severe privacy, psychological risks.

00:07:00: But this is not where the story stops.

00:07:02: Historically, we have seen women who do NOT have what society deems The Ideal Body subject to greater scrutiny with Women of color Black women ESPECIALLY being subjected more side-eye just because the establishment didn't like a look at them.

00:07:18: This Is Not Just About Transbodies It's about ALL WOMEN'S BODYS.

00:07:31: Annette Nagesa is an intersex athlete from Uganda who in twenty eleven submitted to blood tests during the world championships.

00:07:39: Apparently, that was a requirement for the IAAF.

00:07:42: She didn't get any results back and so she kept it pushing training for next round of games in London – you know….

00:07:48: A small thing called The Olympics!

00:07:51: Next thing gets her call from manager saying No dice honey You aren't going to the olympics.

00:07:56: He explained that blood samples revealed levels testosterone in her blood That the IAAAF considered too high And at recommendation on athletics governing body would need further tests.

00:08:09: What then happened was a harrowing mess.

00:08:12: A specialist hospital in France recommended by the IAAF.

00:08:16: no paperwork, No advice...no understanding of what was

00:08:20: happening

00:08:21: In November twenty-twelve after being taken to The Women's Hospital International and Fertility Center in Kampala Uganda.

00:08:28: the then twenty year old woke up from surgery To learn her internal testes had been removed.

00:08:36: This triggered a surgically induced menopause, painful and chronic repercussions and essentially the end of her career.

00:08:44: she had only actually consented to taking injections but instead woke up to surgery all because her body was deemed different.

00:08:57: I think about the WNBA for example, you know?

00:09:00: You have Ennis Ganter who is this ex-player whose been trying to get into politics.

00:09:07: so that guy says i'm gonna declare myself a woman and put my self up for the WMBA draft.

00:09:17: There Is Not A Trans Woman In The Wnba Right Now And There is this feeling that trans women quote-unquote are trying to get ahead.

00:09:30: They're not and I am open to having this conversation, but if it is in order to vilify a group into youth sports as an analogy for people To think That the trans community's trying to cheat quote-unquote.

00:09:57: The thing is they're using sports because sport's a great metaphor for people to believe that trans communities trying to cheat and if the are trying to cheated in other areas of life as well, And That Is Why Sports Is A Political Realm?

00:10:22: so you have A community, a group of demographic that has the highest incidence or the highest suicide rates.

00:10:36: Why don't we just let them have sports?

00:12:27: The European Broadcasting Union, the EBU developed the guidelines following discussions with female athletes to avoid sexualizing their sporting action with unnecessary camera angles.

00:12:38: Basically these guidelines stop taking booty shots.

00:12:42: The control and sexualization of women's bodies is still in full swing even at the peak of physical accomplishment.

00:12:52: It s not about purity, it s just another realm to establish dominance and control over bodies.

00:12:58: The trans-debate is simply an avenue for control and controversy.

00:13:03: There so much we can learn from our bodies through ways that engage

00:28:43: perceptions about women's sports not being as viable as men becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

00:28:50: According to research undervaluing broadcasting rights ticket sales and merchandise leaves billions in potential global sports revenue untapped while leaving money on the table.

00:29:02: people leaving money On The Table.

00:29:05: according one report Global Revenue for Women Sports was projected two point three billion in twenty-twenty five, an eighty percent growth from the previous year.

00:29:16: We are now in twenty twenty six and the numbers are rising.

00:29:19: The FIFA bigwig Jill Ellis says that the organization expects to roughly double the revenue brought in by women's football In twenty twenty seven To one billion dollars.

00:29:30: This is just for FIFA Hey?

00:29:31: Just FIFA By itself?

00:29:33: Well not even counting tennis And her friends.

00:29:35: But as Marianne points out It Is a lack of political will which is not because of a lack of ability on the part of women, but from sexism.

00:29:52: We're leaving money on the table by not supporting fans access and I'm not talking about like Thirsty's Like Myself but real salt of The Earth support till the wheels fall off fans.

00:30:02: Women's teams are selling out stadiums receiving homecoming parades creating fashion and setting national records.

00:30:09: Please just Google how many women's teams win championships that their men's team could never?

00:30:21: One person though, I have seen putting the billions where balls are.

00:30:26: Her name is Michelle Khan and she's kind of giving benevolent billionaire but who knows?

00:30:34: She seems to be uplifting women sports by buying teams all the swag that men's teams do.

00:30:46: The infrastructure, no matter where you are in the world be it Africa Asia or Latin America You should have THE best infrastructure.

00:30:55: Sure there is some debate and nuance to this.

00:30:58: like they are think pieces as whether she is good OR bad for sports.

00:31:03: There s movement AND momentum.

00:31:10: but in order for people to do the proper things, they need to be held

00:31:16: The thing is there's no accountability and we think about these men like work on a different spectrum because you know that they're in sports.

00:31:32: FIFA is non lucrative quote-unquote institution as well.

00:31:36: all football associations around the world be held accountable just as politicians do, because they have an incredible amount of power in public life.

00:31:49: And they receive a lot of money from FIFA and they are building development centers... They're reinvesting this money or not reinvest it themselves.

00:31:59: There's no accountability.

00:32:01: Where is that money going?

00:32:02: That money coming out our pockets Because we paid for the World Cup.

00:32:07: It was very important to us to understand that these people need to be held accountable because they are also having an impact on women's lives.

00:32:18: Violence and discrimination aren't always active, but it is violent to ignore us.

00:32:33: It is a different type of violence.

00:32:36: Marianne made the argument that as a person who holds a political position, president of FIFA you should be held accountable like a politician.
